2014 Domaine Paul Pernot Bourgogne Chardonnay, Burgundy, France
Why Get This Now?
a. 2014 is the best vintage since 2012 and only 2012 and 2014 are typical burgundy years. While other vintages (2011, 2013, 2015, 2016) will be enjoyable - they are not classic.
b. Cost value - purchased with a stronger dollar - this wine (the few bottles we have) still have value. The weakening dollar will surely find this example around $40 in years to come. At $30 look what it is up against world wide… nothing can touch this from a quality / cost standpoint.
c. Quality - top producer, top vintage, age worthy, excellent
d. Pairing - this wine is a food wine - incredible with Spring / Summer vegetables, chicken, fish and seafood.
e. Cool label - so authentic, its a well known and well respected label.
f. Chardonnay - absolutely a benchmark example.
